CSP rewards farmers who go above and beyond conservation requirements. Pays for both existing activities and new conservation enhancements across cropland, pasture, and range.
Iowa tax credit for landowners who rent to beginning farmers at or below fair market value. Encourages farmland transition to the next generation.
Below-market interest rate loans for farmland purchase, agricultural buildings, or equipment. Funded through Iowa tax-exempt bonds.
RCPP coordinates USDA conservation assistance through partnerships with ag groups, state/local governments, and NGOs. Often includes higher payment rates than standard EQIP.

Iowa's flagship water quality program. Pays for bioreactors, saturated buffers, constructed wetlands, and advanced nutrient management practices.
Pays farmers to retire environmentally sensitive land from production for 10–15 year contracts. Reduces erosion, improves water quality, and provides wildlife habitat.
Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) are the main farm bill safety net programs. ARC pays when revenue falls below benchmark. PLC pays when price falls below reference price.
Reimburses certified organic producers for 75% of their USDA organic certification costs, up to $750 per certification category (crops, livestock, wild crops, handling).
REAP helps farmers reduce energy costs through renewable energy systems and efficiency improvements. Solar panels for grain drying, LED lighting, variable speed drives for irrigation all qualify.
