Iowa Specialty Crop Block Grant

$10,000–$200,000

Federal pass-through grant to enhance the competitiveness of Iowa specialty crops. Funds research, marketing, food safety, and production improvements.

Eligibility: Iowa producers and organizations working with specialty crops (fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture/nursery crops).

NRCS High Tunnel Initiative

Up to $15,000 per high tunnel structure

NRCS pays for high tunnel (hoop house) construction through EQIP. Extends growing season, improves crop quality, and supports local food production. Strong demand in Iowa — apply early.

Eligibility: Iowa farmers producing specialty crops for direct marketing. Must have marketing plan and suitable land.
